Never in my life, did I ever think about Ohio, much less wish I lived there! I'm new to this forum, but I think Ohio must take the prize for "most found Native American artifacts". Those are beautiful. Has that distinction been made? Which state has the most found evidence of life long ago?

All of these I picked up in creeks, fields, construction sites. I had the black one (laying horizontally) carbon dated and was told that it is def. thousands of years old.

So how did you have it carbon dated??

Good question ...I'm interested in hearing more.

Other questions would be who carbon dated it and how much did it cost?

I've only had one carbon dated. And it was carbon dated when I was 10 years old. My parents had it done for me, they had a friend that knew of a guy that worked in a lab that did those types of things. Fortunately, I was able to get this done.

Isnt carbon dating done on the dirt that the artifact was found in?not the artifact itself.if you could carbon date the artifact then there wouldnt be all this conjecture on when the oldest peoples habitated north america.sniffy that is a nice frame of artifacts but disagree on the carbon dating of that artifact.thx for sharing the pics.

I'm not real familiar with "carbon dating" like I said, I was only 10 years old and only regurgitating info. that was told to me. Perhaps it was only looked at by a specialist, I'm not sure. However, it is my nicest point and I am confident it is older than dirt. LOL

If you ever get a chance, go to the Serpent Mound in Ohio.
