We went out to our field again today for a couple hours. At first....we were just picking up flakes...then found a pretty cool point. It has a small chip on one of its ears, but other than that its alright. I think it looks pretty old, anyone have any thoughts? Thanks....

Nice point
I dont know types from your area
But my guess would be Woodland point,
the jagged edge is due hard cutting..........they are not serrations

How long have you been hunting that field?
Do you have pictures of all your points in one frame....................
Your finding alot of flakes................but that dont mean a Quarry site was there
You have way too many different color of flakes to see any one workable *Quarry* site chert.........
It could mean the were reducing preforms...................BUT where are the broken preforms?
Just a thought.................I cant get over all the many different colors of flake............

Nice find. We could pick up buckets of flakes in the camps with many colors. Looks like a lot of good material and a well used site. Its just a matter of tme before more roll out.
Good luck

Thats pretty good................for just that many times hunting
That top Blade is very nice..........
Both Blades probably go with the Side Notch Scrapers................because they dont look Woodland period, as the rest of the points do
Should be some older point types pop up in the field for you...........

Each time we go, we have found at least one almost complete. Always lots of flakes and pieces. The field is great to hunt. Was a bean filed....its is really clean and VERY sandy. We are hoping to get a big rain here this week so we can hit it hard this weekend.
