Indian Chief Photo's...

I thought maybe some of you collectors/hunters would like to see some cheif photo's...

Photo take circa 1885.

Standing L-R: Brave Chief (Pawnee), Eagle Chief (Pawnee), Knife Chief (Pawnee), Young Chief (Pawnee), Buffalo Bill Cody, American Horse (Oglala Lakota), Rocky Bear (Oglala Lakota), Flies Above (Oglala Lakota), Long Wolf (Oglala Lakota)

I used my photo software ( torn photo) for the bottom pic, I have decided to frame this pic for my Artifact room. I added it incase anyone would also like to frame it..

I'll be posting more soon...

Molly. :)

Wow Molly, look at all the Peace Medals they are wearing!! I tried to ID the ones with the bearded guy and came up empty, unless they represent Rutherford B Hayes (1879 era). I started googling Indian Peace Medals and there sure is a wide array of them, many more different ones than I even knew existed, so this is an educational post as well.

Here is one I think it is public domain of a Grant Peace medal. (click on photo to increase size)

Amazing what you can find once you put ya mind to it. I nevereven knew about these medals Don. Thanks for the link.

Great thread Molly! I have quite a few old photos of Native Americans framed & hanging in my living room but none of the pics you have posted. I do have one of Red Cloud that is similar but he is wearing different clothing & only two feathers..........no head dress. I really enjoyed seeing these! :icon_thumright:

I'm so glad you enjoyed seeing the pics, I intend on framing some for my artifact room too. I find these photo's very intriguing. Gives us all an insite into what they looked like, also what they wore & how they wore it. Thanks for taking the time to comment AP.

This post is better every time I come back Molly. Its just fantastic to see these captured on film. If you come across any creeks or flat heads or Yuchi, Shawnee, Creek, Chickasaw. I would appreciate seeing them as that is mostly what I collect. Also My dads side was Iroquois from the freezing north. So hard to know what was before recorded history.
Thank you so much this is an amazing thread.

guys and girls, i would like to ask you something... i know, that it is old thread, but i hope someone is still checking it.
so, lets get to the point.
i am from europe (slovenia), and i would like to know, where could find/buy any posters or photos about indians.
i will be pleased if any of you could tell me this.

even if you know where could i buy indian's things like tomahawk or headdress or something like that.

you can send me answers with suggestions here, or on private message, or you can even send me an e-mail on [email protected]

thanks for your help in advance,
