This heartbreaker was found by my co-worker, cletus. She found it on a site that must have been a campsite. She says there is a fire ring, but the place is underwater much of the time. It's interesting to note that it's a creek find, and not even a direct tributary to the the ark. river. The fossil is really nice too! Even though it's broken, it's a treat to get to handle it.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!! I didn't even find it and it's breaking my heart. That would have been a beauty. Still very cool though.

yeah, she was excited. Monday morning she was hollerin' for me as soon as she hit the door. but she forgot to bring it with her, so buckshot and I had to wait till this morning to see what she had. the sketch she drew made us think 'half creek' :laughing7:

thanks for the replies, and HH!

Hey NG, I was gonna call it an Andice, but then I looked it up and it shows more of the calf creek signature.....so I guess first impressions aren't always right.....goat

I know oldgoat. buckshot was saying andice too. the thing that swayed me, and I know extremely little, was the roughness around the base and tang. I have an andice, and it seems to me to be more worked in that area. well, and neanderthal said andice would have "stitching" in that area, so I think i see a difference??? :dontknow: :icon_scratch: anyway, we told her it was a rare find, and not to put it back in the can with the flakes.

The skill in those are amazing. I would have to guess many were broke during the making. Still a nice artifact to find
