Went out four times in the last week and half. All of these came from the creeks with the exception of the piece that I'm wondering about--it came off of my land. It was down about 24" which is about 12" below the Sedalia layer.

Here's the point--I think it's Scott's Bluff related--parallel chipping, ground base, right shape--and if it is, it appears to be a Red River/Cody Knife. But it might just be an odd, resharpened point. What're your thoughts?

Here's another point I had a hard time identifying. Very thin, weird notched base and unusually resharpening.....

I am not from your area but the first one looks like it was broken at one time on the blade and then resharpened to a knife. I say that by looking at the ridge which is usually found in the middle of the blade. The second one looks like a Early Archaic knife to me by the shape. And of course all the others are just great. You have found some nice ones. JMO thanks for the post, rock

The photos of the first piece look like a hardin that has been resharpened many times..

Not sure but it could be a red river knife. The beveling is throwing me off but for type. Im thinking type two scotty worked into a knife. Never heard of a cody knife that was beveled though. Some nice finds. Love that heat treated Burlington North blade. The Snyder preform that it is....haha it is nicely made... That one point looks etley to me..

In my opinion it looks like maybe a Hardin that has had some damage and at one time broke. They reworked the break by resharpening in that fashion.

I think the other point is a Hidden Valley which is a rare type. They are early archaic in age which is why they are generally very well made.

It is hard to be sure what culture the Missouri knife belongs to. As Get-the-point
says, it does appear to be made from an expended point.

Cody Knives from the Plains region which were made from worn-out Scottsbluff points
are called Red River Knives and are generally more common on the southern Plains. This
style of Cody knife often exhibits a beveled cutting edge.

The classic High Plains Cody knives were made as a knife form from the start, not modified
from a used-up Scottsbluff point. Also, the classic High Plains Cody knives usually exhibit
bi-facial resharpening.

Red River Knife for sure. The bevel on one edge gives it away~
Nice find!

Looks like Steve posted 4 1/2 years ago Treasure Hunter.
But if you've still got your Missouri finds I'd love to see them, I know that I've seen you mention on other posts that you did well hunting in the past in Missouri, but don't recall you ever posting pictures.
There's been a lot of nice stuff come from there. If you've still got em post em!
