Looks worked to me. Now it might be a base to something. The narrow flat end being the bottom and the fat end being where it broke. But just a guess. Not sure on the material but I have found some strange shaped scrapers in my area. Maybe show both sides of it.

Looks like the Base of a large Basalt Point / Blade ? I hope you find the rest of it .
