Hello,

I found a fragment of some sort of biface, though I'm not quite sure what it is. It's flat on one side and thickly rounded on the other side. In the first picture, I thought the pointed lower left-hand section might be the ear of a point, but the thickness on the broken side makes that seem unlikely. Does anyone recognize it? Thanks in advance.

It looks to be a piece of stone from knapping. Good eye:thumbsup:

It doesn't look like a piece of a tool? Maybe I need to take better pictures, it has definitely been worked into a shape on both sides.

It doesn't look like a tool to me.

Often times small flakes are removed before a usable flake is comes off... So, some times pieces of debitage appear to have been worked, when they are merely exhibiting earlier attempts to remove that flake........... At least thats the way this guy see's it.

I'm still not sure myself as every unbroken section is sharpened to an edge, both sides have been worked, and it appears to have been worked into a shape. I'll include more pics to see if that changes anyone's mind, the first two pics are the flattened side. Please have another look, even your response is the same, I appreciate it. Thanks again guys.

It is hard to tell for sure from the photos but it looks to me like it's the stem of a broken point I've found many.
Whatever the case may be you should look more where you found that.

Looks to be a reduction flake. I find them to. You look to be in the rite area to find a good one. Keep looking, rock
