I'm a longtime metal detector, but have gained much interest in N.A. artifacts as I'm digging more in plowed fields. I've picked up a few things in the last week or so. The only one in the picture I'm pretty sure of is the first one in the first picture. The others I know are long shots but I put them on here so I can learn what I should and should not be looking for. ( I think that makes sense.)
In the second pic the one on the right has a pretty good bowl in it but is hard to tell from the picture.

How do you tell if the marks or chips off a rock are man made or natural? If anyone's from SE Kansas I'd sure like to sit down and gain some knowledge!

Thanks for any advice! ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1423956706.349690.jpg ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1423956729.853152.jpg

Look up bulb of percussion and striking platform then read about it. That should explain a lot as to the flaking by man.
