Well went to the cow field and all the cows were laying in my best spot about 30 ft away. I looked every place I could till it was almost time to go. They were still there so I thought maybe I could walk near them and have a quick look. The bull looked at me and put out a low tone moo. I then turned around and took off. So I guess it was a no. These cows are brown with a white face and are BIG. Anyway found a few things and the white quartz piece I believe is a preform and never finished surely has the rite shape for a point. Got a pic of my recent sticks to some finished and some in progress. The cane is drift wood which I dont find often and its cool with the natural handle. HH, rock

Looks like you got a nice scraper Rock. Maybe I missed an earlier post, but tell us about the sticks you are working on.

The the only whole piece was a scraper. #5 is a base to a large knife tip no place in sight of course.

Although you can't see it, there's actually a point on the ground in the cow photo I posted. But my friend waited until the cow rejoined the small herd before he walked over, saw it, and recovered it. He has had to run headlong from the bull on several occasions while hunting this farm. I like hunting points as much as most, but I don't challenge bulls.

These cows where I hunt are pretty much tame like pets but Im not going near them due to their size. You just never know with bulls though. It would of been a long run for me to the fence and with all of the cow piles I could see a slip and fall very easy. I had mud all over my hands at least I was hoping it was mud. I was real careful not to touch my face till I could get home and take a bath. Maybe after all this rain we are having I might find a good one on my next trip.
