Please Help Identify these Objects I keep Finding in Creeks near me

No one can seem to figure out what these are. I have found them all in 3 separate creeks in the area.
They all have very visible finger grooves and look like the may have been used to mash/grind based on the bottoms and some of the black spots, etc.
The large piece of pottery (I guess that's what is is) was found in one of the creeks as well. It is clay, I believe, and VERY heavy. Any help would be appreciated.
Maybe it is junk..but even knowing that would help. Thanks in advance everyone.

They look (to me) like they could be pieces of very old clay pottery, where water action has rounded the edges. Strange how so many are nearly the same size.

They appear to be fired clay. Possibly they could be from an old kiln. Or maybe even some sort of interlocking paving stone. Someone could have discarded them and water action over many years has given them that tumbled appearance.
The texture lines across the stones resembles the marks that could be made by scraping the excess clay from a mold.

Definitely broken bricks and then tumbled around a while. Ive seen similar before. Gotta pick them all up though, cuz you never know when 'the one' you dont pick up may actually be something!!!!

Agreed, they look like heavily tumbled bricks.

At first I thought this too. But I have found 4 from 3 separate creeks. And they all have clear finger prints/indentations on them that line up with gripping it to do some kind of grinding or mashing. I just found it really odd and coincidental.

Also Some more clear pictures of the large piece I found. Is there ANY way to tell an age estimation based on material and design on it? You can see a clear design on each side of the large 'spine' going down the middle



Thanks again everyone for the help. Even if they are just old clay bricks, surely there is something to be learned from the heavy piece of pottery (if that's what it is) found in one of the creeks. And why there are finger prints, indents on the other pieces.

lol the creeks, while ini the same county are all pretty spaced out form one another..different cities within the county.
Would still like to know why all the finger prints/grooves and what the big piece is

They are curious and no telling what they're from. If it were me I would hang onto them and maybe someday you will find another piece that will fit one of them and it will solve the riddle.

I've found Whale vert material in Cobb Co! About 70M years ago, even much of Tennessee was covered by ocean! I have also found your tumbled bricks. Sure wish I could find the housesite so I can detect it!
