Finds over past 2 weeks , haven’t made it out much lately but did find a few keepers , first one is from river / shoreline I hunt probably 95% of beach was covered in leaves so not much hunting area at all but found this up against bank looks like it just fell out.
It’s an oddball it has a few things that made me think unfinished point but than a few that made me think finished scraper .... let me know what you think

It has this weird almost 90 degree ledge that looks like outer cortex left on it that makes a great grip , the only 3 spots on it that aren’t razor sharp are rite where your fingers and thumb would go if used as scraper , not just the edges of this but everywhere on it is crazy sharp.

All the rest of these are from a field that I found my first point as a kid and lived across street from growing up , for probably 10 years it was the only place I hunted and i can say I never went home without atleast one point ...... didn’t realize how good I had it until I moved away. I was working out that way and stopped for a few minutes ... Debri everywhere from corn harvest but still found these

Also found this what I believe is a hammer / maul
Very odd material though

Allright, welcome home. That place was good to you. I'd say scraper on first piece, looks like it would work well, also has a nice edge for cutting too

Nice man that 1st one could be a preform or a nice scraper like that black material but you did well on the points to. Better than what I have been finding. Ive gotten a couple since my last good one. We got over 6 inches of rain this week and NC got the tail end of the storm and got 18 inches of snow from what I hear. No snow or ice here thank goodness. Thanks for sharing I think most are snowed in rite now, rock

I definitely miss it out there I’m gonna try and break away from work one more time and take another look around. I think scraper too would still cut nicely today that flint really keeps a nice edge.

That first one looks like English ballast flint. Gary

If it wasn’t worked as much as it is I would say that’s a possibility but I believe this was crafted at least a few hundred years before any English. I have been very tempted to buy a metal detector though the property where that was found was site of the first court house in Cecil county ,Maryland (1690) also a small ferry crossing across the Bohemia River (1690-1705) so I’m sure there’s some goodies to be found , I found I nice French gun flint on the beach looking for points ...... but man a decent detector isnt cheap ...

Thanks for comments , I was wondering how you made out from that storm we didn’t get anything up here but when I found those points the ground was frozen solid and I didn’t realize until I was in the middle of field that I forgot my knife in the truck so I had to break loose a tiny rock bout half an inch than used that to scrape out a bigger one and had to do that until I could break free one big enough to use to dig out the points .... they still were hard to remove I was cringing thinking they were gonna break .... if it had been a killer Clovis or something else on my bucket list let’s just say it may have been time for a pee break... lol

I was going to say next time drink a lot of Gatorade before the hunt you will have plenty of fuel to get them rocks free. I use a screwdriver flathead being the best and it works great just dont put it in your back pocket and forget and jump in your ride cause it will tear your seat. I have done it before and was real sad afterwards. Just a ton of water again seems like every rain we get at least 6 inches at a time and every inch equals a foot in the creeks. This time of the year they drain the big lake and the river flow is on and it backs up all of the creeks. Once in a while they turn it off but not for long. I have fields I can walk but the owners seem to be uneasy this year on me walking them. Not sure whats going on maybe people are sneaking in and hunting deer. I havent heard get out yet and always park where they can see my truck so it doesnt look like Im trying to hide. Farmer has come by a few times and waves so I guess its still okay he has my # and hasnt called me. Ive been walking them fields for 5 yrs now with permission.
