Sure looks like it might have been something at one point, not sure there’s enough left to make a call now though. Still a cool looking rock.

I've seen this exact same process in upstate NY. In a creek that had variable flows during the year. Some rocks get stuck in the bottom and the sand and gravel passing by and at them eat away in what looks like layers.... sometimes they are layers of less dense stone.

Me thinks it is a natural rock that looks a whole lot like a hafted knife. I would have picked it up also.
