Vein Mountain

I was wondering if there ws anyone out there that every been to Vein Mountain looking for gold. I am planing on going there this May for the outing. I just wanted to know where would be my best bet to dig and pan. Is the water the best place or should I work the dirt or somewhere else. Plus if you are going to be there would like to get together and pan together....Thanks Matt

Hi Matt i've been there a few times panning in the creek might be hard to do during an outing as there will be many dredger's in it. your best bet will be talking to the caretaker's they are verry nice and knowledgable about the area. your best bet might be panning from the piles of dirt the backhoe digs and leaves for that purpose after they hit a gold bearing level whitch to my verry verry limited knowledge is usualy deep. there will be a lot of folks there you can hook up and pan with.I've never been to an outing there usualy when i go i wind up walking around exploring and sitting around bs'ing lol. good luck. jerry

LOL @ jerry! yeah me too! Hi Matt! Well gold prospecting isnt something ive tried here in NC. I certainly did my share in the mineral belt in CO! Kinda got burned out! I still cant believe how our ancestors did it? good luck and dont forget to email me when you get here. Ill either hook up with ya or give you a couple spots to hunt...seeya friend...mike
