    Check this map out,there is a small town called carlton Lake southwest of Diablo Canyon.
    It is just above and to the west of the map name at the bottom.

    The Carlton Lake info loads,but the top is not.
    Wonder why.It was actually called Carlton Lake Camp.Just a mining,bootleg,rough camp


    Try this link again.It took abnout 30 seconds or longer to load,but finally came up.
    New link for carlton lake.


    There Is a lot of info on the map that is around your area I believe.
    Info that is old and not shown onm newer maps.

    I believe Stoneman Lake has always had that name. Martha Summerhayes talks about traveling to the lake from Camp Apache. That was back in 1875.
