Then & Now Photo's
I love history. I think it is very interesting to see towns and cities grow and the changes that occur. The following are a few Then & Now photographs that I have found and taken for comparison. Does anyone else enjoy this? Does anyone else have some photo's to share?

Cool. That first one could be almost any small town America.
I just noticed the other day Google Earth has a similar function. You can go to your house (or anywhere) and scroll back in time to see the changes. Try it.

In many towns in NJ in some pubic offices they have tons of certain intersections over the past 150 years. No those are some amazing picture to see those changes, yet other towns have even less changes and some original buildings still standing. Another good example is lower Manhattan, NYC that still has buildings from the early 1800's, all surrounded by the modern crap of today
I just wished I had pictures of my childhood neighbor around. All the buildings in my area have changed for a good 4-6 blocks square. The only thing that remained constant on my block was an old lot with a massive granite outcrop that had to be about 20' wide, 60' long, height about 8-10' This was in the middle of the block too, and butted up against building that have been replaced and in one case leveled to make a parking lot.
Yup, there is nothing like looking at old pictures.

I live in New Mexico. A few years my Wife was gifted a book. "New Mexico, Then and Now." by William Stone (Westcliffe) One hundred fifty pages of amazing photos. Those that find old photos interesting might remember that history is happening now. I have missed documenting history often. When it disappears, it's gone. If something catches your eye take the time then to document it or sometimes even the next day it could be gone.
About 30 years ago a man (about 65 at the time) was given two boxes of glass plate negatives of a town in n. Illinois. Street scenes, people, farms etc. I thought at the time I'd like to print them. Life went on, he died, negs disappeared, pictures gone. My lesson was, do it now!

Hi. I'm new to TreasureNet but not to metal detecting. Here's a Before/After shot from a town in PA where I detect a couple of times a year.

Search ebay for old postcards, they generally have some nice photos/paintings of landmarks long gone or changed. I've got a few from my hometown and the town where I went to college. Not handy otherwise I'd post alongside recent photos.
