Red Heat XD-17 still available?

I am in the market for a new detector,and the Red Heat youtube video is very impressive.I am tired of digging nails.

I don't think the red heat detectors are made anymore.
If I recall right the owner of the company passed away a few years ago.

They were made in the UK if I recall right.

You might find one used on e-bay or somewhere else like a dealer. But that also brings up the fact, you'd have a hard time if you needed parts or service. 8)

Will the soveigrn see that quarter on the backside of a pair of iron pliers like in the video? Is that common in modern detectors,because I have been using older borrowed equipment.Thats why I am in the market.

Well thats a tough one for most detectors.. Seeing a coin behind a pair of pliers.

I don't think it is common to be able to do that on modern detectors.
Remember these detectors are no magic wands.

I would look into a XP GoldMaxx or a Minelab Explorer if I was tired of digging nails.
Both have good depth, good Iron ID and are popular.
The XP though is analogue so it has no meter to watch for target ID. Only sounds.
