need advice.

Afternoon ladies & gents.Been following this site for years,could use some professional help.Worked as a sub-contractor for the Mel Fisher family out of Sebastian florida for 13 years,finally hung it up in Dec 2009.Next adventure,possibly panning.Thought about Alaska,Arizona,settled on New Mexico around the Eagle Nest,Red River,area.Have access to summer cabin in Red River.That helped a lot in my choice.Done basic internet research on the area.Have spent a lot of time through the years at Eagle Nest.Anyone with any info on the area or even a contact would be helpful.Probably go up there in late August or Sept the snoop around.Really enjoy this and other mining sites.Everyone keep the great stories coming.Thanks for any and all help.Tom Fenley,San Antonio Texas.
