need information about the Chariton, Iowa area

i need something to do!!!! i would like to go to the chariton area but i don't know what to expect. it's a 4 hour drive from here, and i've never been there. i don't care about getting rich. those people have a lot of trouble. but i would like to find enough gold so i can leave a little for each grandchild. all i want is a little information about the area. i don't want to move in on anyone. and i'd prefer to not get shot. thanks

lots of muddy water and clay banks. id probly look for any stream closer to home thats a clear gravel bottomed stream. and dig deep if you want to find any gold.
