Fauquier County VA Prospecting

Brand new to this hobby, looking to find someone who has been panning and such in Fauquier County, VA to show me the ropes. I'm located in or very near the "gold belt" area for this region.
Have been doing alot of forum and You Tube reading/watching on this and thought I found a local (Tom Sablon) to work with, but based on what I've been able to find online, I believe I'm a few years too late. Toms emails are returned and I found indications that he may have passed away. I've got all of April off and was hoping to spend alot of that time prospecting with like-minded folks out my way...

I suggest you find local prospecting clubs in your area or as close to you as you can find. Here are three contacts for GPAA chapters in WV maybe one is close to you. Craigsville WV Larry Board 304-742-5097, New Haven WV Jim De Weese 304-882-2578, Nitro WV Joe Smoot 304-972-1976. They may even know of clubs near you.
