Any of the the city parks and playgrounds are fair game. I would be inclined to steer clear though as there is some controversy about relocating the monuments. Veterans groups are not too happy that the city is doing that so you might catch some heat if you start digging. If and when they start digging so will I.

Also, tomorrow the underpass in Norry will be closed for three weeks for road work. All the traffic that would have ended up at Ted's Landing will now be going through Sunbury >:( >:( >:(

There looks to be alot of places to go over that way, take a ride down the river all kinds of old homes. I work for a guy in paxtonville so I get out that way once a month or so, just never have time to detect.

Sounds like you got some real good advice, in my opinon if the city is making the veterans mad about monuments I would stay away too till they are done with that. But since you know someone and detect other areas til then have a great time and can't wait to see your finds!
