Nice bunch of pics, did you take most of them or are they internet found? What a story they all tell. Here is one that I took in Timony Illinois a long time ago. A year or so later I went back and the old Coke signs were gone. Wondered how they lasted that long.

if it's the one I think of it is about a mile from me.
The Basement is ? Was filled with Mason Jars filled with Canned Food,
(some women used to put a silver coin inside the lid of every canned food Jar.
they believed it increased the chances of the food staying Fresh.
I hope this was not the case here
)
& the house was completely Furnished yet last time I saw it ('70's ?)
the road to it is no longer accessible Though in the winter you can see it
from the dead end near it.

it is just off the old Reading Railroad Line & these days on property owned by a Very Unfriendly Land Owner.
unless you are a member of the local Motorsports Park, I don't expect you can
legally even walk up to the Property. My guess they will even insist they own the old Reading rr Line

There was a Small Town there up until the 1960's.
My uncle lived in the last stone House in the area Where I put the red Square below.
He had told me the Woman in the house above that is Now abandoned but still there was rumored to be a Witch, But of Course she may have been a PowWow
Or he may have made it up to scare us from going up, which never worked.
As when he said that I immediately walked up & started snooping , But don't remember seeing her

I have searched that are north of the Red Square in the 80's but only thing I remember
bringing home were small live snakes to show my nephew .

As I said since then the newest landowner owns practically the whole mountain,'
is not a cool person . he just sits & shakes his head no.
of course this may be because Hunting clubs Lease the land from him
for hunting seasons.

this may be it , it is the only abandoned house in that Town I can find a Pic of on the tax site yet

there are other Abandoned houses on Coal Lands around here.
most are in such bad shape entry could mean your life,
and of of course legal access to the land for a Year will cost $100
