any tripod should work!! I have never heard of any specialised ones!! Chug

Yeah, they all use a standard 1/4-inch mounting screw. The only difference you'll find is
that some tripods have a quick release plate, where you screw the plate (about 2" square)
then that plate with the camera on it fits into a quick release mechanism, so you can leave the
mounting plate on the camera all the time, then slip it into the tripod easily without
having to fiddle with the screw.

In this photo, the detachable plate is the square at the top,
and the quick-release knob is on the upper right.

Most tripods, however, have just a simple screw-in mount that is not detachable.

I purchased one as a christmas present to myself.
Luckily and unknowningly I did purchase one with the detachable base..As they say,I would rather be lucky than good anyday :tongue3:.thanks again for the info...
