You're right D D. Copper now (Noon-CT) is at $2.50/lb, making a copper cent worth 1.62 cents each for their copper content. I only have around 12K of them making the $120 in cents now valued at $194 for their copper content. Unusual, but I haven't received a copper cent in change in over a week.

Goose: think of it as making a 60% return on your initial one cent investment. When you look at it that way, it sounds more like "BIG BUCKS". Where else can you make 60% return on face value cash outlay? It just takes TIME. If I recall, back in 2010/11 it was around $.035 per each copper cent.

I remember those 'good ol' days. Then the guv'mint passed a law that pennies and nickels can't be refined for their copper. Silver remains to be melted due to the possibility that the guv'mint buys the silver from the refiners at a good price.

It's still illegal to turn copper cents in for scrap, right?
