Keith,

Robi and I both wish to share our condolences on the loss of your father. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting him I have a feeling that he was a hell of a good man. After all he raised a good man and taught him well. Always remember the good time you were able to have with him and he will never really be gone from your life.

Sorry to be late to hear the news but im so sorry to hear that this world has lost another great veteran, father, and friend. This is the worst part of growing up. Im only 26 but it seems ive entered the time of my life where the lord is starting to call the people i love home for eternity. Keep your chin up and remember all the pleasures he brought you. Love ya man.

Keith,

Just read that your dad has passed...my sincere condolences
at this sad time. Reading about your dad reminds me so much
of my own father, who fought in the Korean War aboard a
US Navy carrier.

I know the past couple years have been tough, but now that
he has passed (in time) you'll forget about all the misery and
begin to remember only the good times.

Prayers and healing karma are in the wind my friend, and I pray
they bring you peace and understanding.

Mike

I lost my best friend today. Gone one of the best men I have ever known or met. My father was a great man and served his country well during World War II. Very few hero's of that war are left and the USA has lost another at 10:01AM this morning. We had made plans to go to the local casino this Friday until he fell and broke his hip last Wednesday, he knew his recovery at his age was slim. He was a fighter until the end and my heart is broken knowing he is gone. The last 18 months has been terrible for our entire family. The photo was from weeks ago after he suffered a heart attacked that left his heart functioning at 40 percent. He loved playing slots... <img src="http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1061026"/>

Thank you all for the thoughtful comments. Just finishing up the video presentation to be delivered to the funeral home tomorrow. Pouring through old military, family, vacation, etc. photos and trying to piece together a video in short time was tough but inviting at the same time. Got to relive some memories that I had forgotten. Here is one of my favorite photos of my father in 1941.

Sorry to hear about your father. I know of the loss you feel. Time will make it better though.
At least you got the video done. It's actually quite an experience. For us it was like reliving our childhood and all the good times. Actually made us laugh at such a sad time for the family. But my dad wouldn't want us to cry for his leaving us. So we tried. Very unsuccessfully.

I haven't been on TNet for a couple weeks. So I hit one site at the top of my list. Find out my buddy Eagle had passed away September 27th from a heart attack. Then I come here (2nd on my list) and you let us know about your father.
I guess I shouldn't stay away for so long.
I hope you and your family are doing good. Especially your brother with his recovery. I know your year will get better. Hoping to get out there again someday soon.

Sorry for your loss. 30 years ago on this very day my father passed away. Just need to think of it as they got to board for their vacation a little before us. My condolences.

I am just catching up when I saw your dad is gone. Having lost my dad 3 years ago, I truly sympathize. He was a great pilot, with WWII, Korea and Vietnam and 14,300 hours military flying time. He was also a great dad and it is hard to no longer be able to grab the phone and say, "Dad, I got a problem, what do you think?" It seemed like to me he always knew the answer. Or even just to say, "Dad, what you doing?"

That loss is perhaps the greatest loss.

My prayers are with you.

I am so fricken tired of bad news. I arrive at work today only to learn that the company I work for is being sold. Met-Life the owner of the property wants our property off their books by December 15th. The new owner takes over on the 16th and has hired another company to manage the new owners company. People are bailing out left and right. If I decide to stay I have to re-interview for my position and then its up to the new operator to hire those being interviewed. There goes 26 years out the window. Maybe its time I just retire early.

If you can financially pull it off, I highly recommend the get your a** outta the rat race option. I did it at 54 and haven't looked back since, except to LOL. Money is real tight for now..I'm 57 and have to manage to get to 62 and SS. I'm a cup half full type of guy unless it revolves around employment and politics. Best of luck to you Keith.:icon_thumright:

Geez viper you can't catch a break! I felt like I was in a place like that a few years back when I lost my dad. Keep your head up, it will all work out. From what I've seen you can build just about anything, and do a damn fine job doing it! Maybe the time to put another one of your talents to work for you till you can officially retire!

Sorry to hear of your fathers passing Keith,

Lost my father last year but he lives on in my fondest memories of the great times we shared. I am comforted by knowing that he no longer suffers and the belief that he is enjoying an eternal afterlife with our heavenly Father.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in your time of grief and mourning.
Buddy~
