Now this is straight up mechanical pron. Rearrange some letters and you'll understand.

Dyno'ed at 550 horsepower at 5800 rpm and 555 ft-lbs of torque at 5600. It has 315 ft-lbs of torque just of idle. Going in the white truck I have. I was hoping the transmission would last until I get the other rebuilt and it would go in as a "package". Guess the truck had other plans.

Its built so a change of the intake manifold will allow me to add multiport fuel injection to it.


I'm chasing something and making sure my vehicles are the only ones that can get there.

The guy who dyno'ed it thought his dyno was broke when he seen the horsepower and torque curves. They damn near mirror each other. He had never seen an engine keep pulling until it redlines. Gotta love a 383 stroke.

If anyone is interested, there are a group of books written by David Vizard. He has worked with the Big 3 on a lot of their sports car engines. They are eye opening to say the least.

Got the parts for the transmission for my truck today. Transmission is back together and will be going back in tomorrow. Sorry no pics, didn't think anyone would want to knows what happens inside an auto transmission.

Truck is back together and getting a new water pump tomorrow. It was starting to weep a little.

The transmission had some pretty serious internal moods made. It may be computer controlled but mods were made to allow me to hold any gear at any rpm. Will find out it shifts tomorrow.

Just chilling out around the house for a few days. Making mountain pies tonight to get the irons ready for this summer. No beer or work on the vehicles. I got stuck with weekend on call.

The old warhorse will live again, well at least part of it anyhow. Found cab and frame issues with my '73 so I put her down for good. Type bed and the rest of the framecwill find new life as my expedition trailer.

Pics of the stuff I wad talking about. What's left of the truck at this point, the high top camper shell, the water tank and 12 volt pump, and the water heater. Considering my 73 was setup with dual tanks, I just might find some new plastic tanks to put under it for fresh water.

350 SBC. It was saved along with a Stage 3 TH350 trans and a NP205 transfer case. Front axle went under my Jeep and the rear will stay 6nder the trailer for now.

No tilt steering. The firewall and the front half of the floor is all that's left on the frame. Its just rolled forward making it look like riot steering.

Been busy the last few days. Getting garage organized to get some things built for the mine. Built a bunch of cabinets with some more to build and building some new workbenches.

Just a little update on progress.

For those that don't know, SaltwaterSevr and I have partnered up on his prospects. My garage is getting revamped for metal fabrication to get a few ideas in play.

Rail recovery in tough and remote locations anyone? Built to be towed being a larger ATV like a Grizzly or a side by side. And yes that is the beginnings of a job crane on the trailer. Still working out the out riggers.

Forgot to add i have the spindles ordered to make this a walking beam trailer and the electric brake setup to make this a whole lot safer when towing heavy loads.

Looking good there. Is this 2 inch square tubing stock you are using to build the frame? Will this be small enough to go inside the mine tunnel down the road? Could use your jib crane to move a small crusher around.

2x2x 1/4 wall square tubing. It would depend on the mine tunnel. Yes the jib could move a small crusher around. According to the math, the jib has a maximum capacity of 2500 pounds.

Yes I can see with this picture the edge of the upright tubing looks to be around 1/4 inch thick. Should hold some real weight. Can see a little better that the boom is on a ram as well. Thanks for posting.
