I was impressed with the easy-to-understand article Ty Brook wrote for hyper-tuning /super-tuning your metal detector that appeared in the TECH TALK Dept. , on page 15 of the May, 2014 issue of Western & Eastern Treasures magazine.
This post is just to alert those of you who might not be aware of this special type of tuning, or may still be a little confused by what you have read in the past. I believe Ty's article will help "clear-away-the-fog" and it includes the following agenda :

- System requirements a detector must have to be capable of this type of tuning.
- How to set the ground balance control, threshold, discrimination and sensitivity, for hyper-tuning.
- The type and amount of benefit you can expect from hyper-tuning. This might come as a surprise to many of you !
- The affect that hyper-tuning has on the pinpoint or all-metal mode and some tests to prove this to yourself.
