Two days at the old cotton gin
I spent two days at an old cotton gin detecting, It was probably run by a steam engine, as it was located on the banks of a stream.
It is near an old pioneer road that crossed the creek at this location.
All that is visible, is a dug well, & the old foundation, I found mule shoe, plow point, scrap iron, bridle bit, numerous whatzit's,Stove leg, harness rings, bricks, slag, Axe head,
door lock, Wagon hub, etc.
A little boy came by & wanted to detect, (buried a quarter), without him seeing me & then let him find it, (big smile), May be the next generation of md'er.
Found all this with my ancient (Jetco Huntmaster), I will take Scotto later to check for coins with his new Garrett Ace 250.

Re: Two days at the old cotton gin
Did you detect where the OUT HOUSE was located.
A very good spot to check out.
I have recovered a few pistols and a number of coins doing this in Tucson AZ.

Re: Two days at the old cotton gin
Didn't find the outhouse, the place was farmed in later years I guess, only found the top of a salt shaker, to maybe indicate a house was there, we will check it out again as soon as the rain lets up. Fossis.........................

Looks like some nice finds. Sounds like the best treasure of the day was the smile on the boy's face when you let him dig the quarter. Always nice to hear of people doing this. Makes you feel good!
WTG!
