I live in an area where a lot of activity involving the Pequot war occurred. I didn't find anything that old today, but I did find this Horseshoe essentially in the middle of nowhere. It looks like an older one. I was wondering if anyone could pin down an age range on it. I also found a well nearby which is odd since there is literally nothing not even a rock wall nearby as far as I can see. This well also looks like it could be 1700s.

Here is the horseshoe in question:

Here is the ancient looking well:

If anyone could provide an age range for this horseshoe and an estimatated age for the rock lined well I'd appreciate it!

Thanks,

best to date it by other artifacts from the same area....shoes are still made much the same today although cleaning it up a bit may shed more light on it. I would drop a magnet down the well , perhaps an old six shouter awaits.
