Hematite?

Found this Sat and I think it is Hematite and thought it was kinda neat.

I'm use to a more globular formation with hematite, but after looking at other pics, I agree. I think it's hematite. I love it.

I have a piece of scrap tile will that work? And what color will come on the tile if it leaves a mark?

Try it? Not sure. I like to use those old electric fuses which are unglazed.

You should, if it is hematite, get a reddish streak.

Well I just tried it and it came out redish brown. Might be iron ore?

I usually just say reddish. Should be reddish brown - Hematite.
