Does it seem like its rock for sure or could it be cartilidge or bone? I have no idea right now but someone here might know. Looks like a heart of some kind at first glance that's what came to mind lol. I guess it could be used to be some kind of water container? I'm just guessing tho. Also looks beehivish lol

I have no clue what that is, but it looks really interesting, if you find an answer somewhere else, make sure to let us know.

Ok still thinking about it lol, what is the blue? Is it powdery, grain like? The blue stuff seems to be at the openings more. Could it be fossilized wood of some kind that someone or something carved? It seems to have a grain pattern in some spots.

Ok so near 4 corners I guess but that thing doesn't look like sandstone or siltstone. I'm curious what other people think I don't know what it is.:dontknow:

I guess it could be but it is real heavy for being small and hollow. The dark at the opening looks like some metallic ore may be in it. And there are fine specs that sparkle

I thought a goat/deer stomach water bag...but...

I am rather familiar with monument valley...and the stone color an content is similar to those in the area...but?
unless it is a fossil...I am stumped....does look like an accretion, rather than a deposit..

I think its metal with a concentration of river sand covering it. Maybe from Utah's Monument Valley?
Use a metal detector to see if it is metal.

This was found in the creek by my grandson. Can anyone guess or telle what it is. Thanks

I think what you have is a hollowed out iron nodule / concretion. The black is probably goethite or pyrolusite. The redish to brown on the outside is hematite. The shiny specs you see on the inside could be little flakes of hematite. What is called specular hematite. Or It could also be little flakes mica that are incorporated in the Iron. The shape is odd. But I've seen many weird looking nodules. The iron could've formed around a stump of a tree. The tree being organic rotted away and left the iron cast that you see now. Many things could have made this shape but I believe is natural.
