If any and everyone whom has read my post in the dumpster dive area, knows I find an assortment of things.. and once in a while I find things I'm really interested in.. Thou unclear what the sphere is.. (maybe Black or blue serpentine) the base is marble..

Just another for my collection. btw.. the new fujifilm camera seems to be doing very well at these close ups..

This is probably one of two things.

First, just a stone sphere. People do collect them and they come in a variety of sizes and colors. A pure black one is usually obsidian or black marble.

Second is a Dorodango. Something that was very popular when I lived in Japan. They are hand made polished clay balls. I have seen black ones. But not ones that look like this, so it is probably just a stone sphere.

They are usually valued anywhere from $30 to $300 depending on what they are made of and how big they are. The size varies anywhere between 2" and 4" normally.
