Chalcedony. Its associated with hydrothermal events. You say its heavy so there might be other minerals involved with the host rock but judging from what I can see of the host rock its possible that its dense pegmatite, volcanic in origin. Nice bit though.

I see veins all over that appear to be gold trapped in the quartz. Could this really be possible?
