Odd looking quartz rock

Found this what I think is smoky quartz on a dirt road in north Ga.Anyone have a clue?

It's just natural light, don't know why it has blue tint it looks like smoky quartz.

Could possibly be the blue from the background material.

Your welcome. Native American Indians liked pretty rocks to just like we do today. Its the best of both worlds for me....rocks and ancient history.

I have or had some Topaz specimens that looked similar to that but with lesser striping on them. Rub the rocks with a finger or thumb and it it feels greasy, then it may be Topaz. Not sure what caused the striping on them but possibly a reaction to whatever mineral compounds the adjoining rocks were made up of.

Thanks Frank,it's good to hear from a fellow vet.I served in the Army from 1978-84,anyhow it's not really greasy feeling,I'm pretty sure it's smoky quartz I've just never seen this kind of striping on it before.
