That's pretty wild. It almost looks like a silica in the middle; kinda olive colored. The black is strange. Other angles maybe?

No it didnt come from the peg. I think it was part of some skarn about 25 miles away.

Looks like a good candidate for olivine. I've found similar specimens in pegmatite over the years.
