Hey everyone.

Was curious if anyone has had any luck in the Albuquerque area rockhounding? I have hear some have found some good stuff in the Sandia Mountains. Anyone have any info on this. I am moving there and am looking for places to rockhound. I pretty much walk and plan on hiking the Sandia Mountains. Which direction should I head and what may be some prime spots to locate some good lookin stones. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

There are plenty of places in the Sandia's and all around the State.
There is a large rock club at the Natural History Museum that has a field trip once a month
except December. They have access to places that are under claim or on private property.
They meet the 4th Monday at the Museum, 730PM
If interested Google Albuquerque Gem and Mineral Club.

If your a lone wolf there is a book Gem Trails of NM. Might only be available locally but it
writes about many collection collection sites.
