My wife picked this up off a dirt road last summer and I thought with the twinned crystals it was a staurolite. If so it is the biggest one I've seen. Also looks like maybe garnet on face? Any ideas?
I'm thinking it is not a staurolite but it is a very cool find. What state was it found in? I know we have them here in Virginia and I have heard of them in Georgia but not sure where else they are found. I live about 5 miles from Fairystone State Park. "Fairystones" are staurolite crystals.
