Staurolite?

My wife picked this up off a dirt road last summer and I thought with the twinned crystals it was a staurolite. If so it is the biggest one I've seen. Also looks like maybe garnet on face? Any ideas?

I'm thinking it is not a staurolite but it is a very cool find. What state was it found in? I know we have them here in Virginia and I have heard of them in Georgia but not sure where else they are found. I live about 5 miles from Fairystone State Park. "Fairystones" are staurolite crystals.

These are typical of what I see here in SD. These are on my fireplace. Sometimes associated with garnets.

I live 6 miles down the road from Fairystone Park, actually born while my father was a ranger there. I've only gone through the woods looking for the stones one time, and I did find this one:

I'm gonna guess! I think they could be the faces of limonite after pyrite cubes that are twinned. That's my best guess!

Staurolite has a white streak. Try that. Also, garnet is much harder than staurolite.
