Quartz. "SiO2". Diamond is "C". I tested it in my imagination.

Yeah, about that diamond ...

If I'm seeing the crystal correctly, it appears to have a terminated hexagonal structure. Diamonds are octahedrons (two, four-sided triangular pyramids with a common square base). Looks like another chunk of semi-clear quartz.

Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy diamond.
You were caught in the crossfire of childhood and stardom, blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger, you legend, you martyr, and shine!

Well you wore out your welcome with random precision, rode on the steel breeze.
Come on you raver, you seer of visions
, come on you painter, you piper, you prisoner, and shine!

Charlie P.,

Are you from anywhere near Oneonta/Morris? I made a trip up there to see a friend in 2016. Very nice area that reminds me of where I am from in Virginia.

We're 50 miles SW of Oneonta.

If you went up I88 you went right past us. Rolling hills and river valleys. I'm prejudiced but I think it's pretty territory.

Indian Steve asked: "When Are You ACTUALLY Going To Show Us TEST RESULTS Or Documentation From A Professional? Surely Your Diamond Tester Has Arrived By Now? Did It Arrive And Not Show The Results That You Wanted?"

and stated: "It doesn't get here til the 12th."
==============

That was June, it is now July 25th, has that kit arrived Caleb12, and if so, what does it tell you because you have repeatedly told us we don't know what we are talking about when we try to explain why all your rocks are not Diamonds.

Wow! I thought I had slipped into a time warp that brought me back around to the discussion of diamonds (octahedrons) vs. quartz (terminated hexagons). Then, I re-read the entire thread and realize that was a mistake. You know, like thinking that quartz will ever become a diamond. Just saying.
