Hello all, traded for some rocks from a long time collector. I buy and trade for strange or weird rocks. These looked as strange as they come. When my friend was cutting another piece, round metal spheres where in the rock. Any idea as to what type of stone this my be. Thank you for the help.

Hello all, here is a close up of the metal sphere in it. The other shining parts are also metal. The jewelers loop I used is a 20x. Thank you for the help.

Interesting. Some type of slag, would be my guess. You can rule out meteorite...they don't have bubble cavities.

Do a hardness test on the metal/ mineral sphere.
Possibly a solid silver nugget inside a slab of silver ore. I have seen a softball sized 99% pure silver nugget that came out of Creede.

Your mineral could also have small marcasite sphere's in it. A pyrite.

Hello all, did a streak test and no streak. Did a hardness test and I was able to scratch the metal sphere with a Leatherman. Thank you for the help.

It looks like a deadringer for slag. Just like the slag I find all over here in the Mining City!:icon_thumleft:
