This rock is very heavy and very dense compared to other rocks of its size, it was extremely difficult to start breaking it up. Steel doesn?t scratch it, but sand paper does. It has sort of a waxy luster. It?s mostly a light tan color with some darker spots as well these streaks of gray/silver.
This 1st pic is the original specimen. It was ~80lbs(36kg).
It?s been in our front yard for as long as my parents can remember. If it?s any help we live less than a mile from the Clackamas river in Oregon. Near riverside park to be a little more specific.
This 2nd pic is a smaller chunk that I?ve run through my tumbler
this pic is another chunk of the rock that I?ve hosed of with the pressure washer.
Finally this last pic is just another random chunk still laying around my yard. This one you can really see the grayish/silver streaks in it.
