I am referring to the hard aluminum ones not the foil type. Are the hard ones the same value as like aluminum cans? or are they considered something else?

I see these all the time at garage sales etc....my wife bought a whole stack of about 5lbs worth saturday fo $1.00, just curious if they are worth buying when I see em cheap

I have put restaurant grade aluminum in with my other non can alum and got .45 per pound last week....but that is a littler heavier than most house hold pans. One the other hand if they classify it with your cans I'm getting .75 per lb....if i could get 5 lbs for a buck i would think it would pay off pretty good.

Thanks for this great idea to get scrap. It never occurred to me as I never pay for scrap and I avoid garage sales because most of the junk ends up on the curbside anyway.
But now my habits might change

Over here we call this Al, domestic grade and it fetches about 70c/Lb.
Al prices have been steadily climbing and I expect it to continue due to higher cost of power
