    Known Treasure Wrecks undiscovered

Forgive me if this has already been discussed. I was just wondering what major treasure wrecks have yet to be discovered? What would you say the top three are? Top ten? Gotta dare to dream right? Thanks!

Speaking of continental Portugal, across from Ereiceira the Conceicao with triple loading from India in 1622. Awesome battle where enemy cannon shots are embedded in the hull of the ship.

    [/quote

    Whittman,
to assess the real problem is not know how these ships carrying in contraband. From 1620-1650 the Spanish galleons carrying up to 300% of contraband. It is very difficult to assess, but undoubtedly, many millions.
A Spanish capitana or almiranta in 1650-1690 was carrying about 330 tons of precious metals

    Re: Known Treasure Wrecks undiscovered

The 'most valuable' would only be a speculative guess since so many of the vessels carried contraband that could range up to 2-3 times the amount of manifested cargo. Furthermore, you didn't define 'value'; I only assumed you meant monetary value, overlooking educational and historic value.

    Re: Known Treasure Wrecks undiscovered

Sorry, yes, I was speaking from a purely monetary point of view. How about most valuable manifested cargo, disregarding contraband? I imagine the Central America had to be one of the biggest, but what about wrecks that haven't been found yet?
