on my search for dutch shipwrecks I came across the Solway steamship in a newspaper from 1842. it might intrest some of you.
Captain Eusor reported in New York that on the 6th of october on position 27d 25m and 77d79m he did see a big steamship on fire which did sink within three minutes.
As he did see it people left the ship already. One of the passengers said it was the Solway, which left Belize on 25 sept. direction Valparaiso
