I'll keep the Sunday after the cookout open and go with you, SADS 669. I've been to both, but not for awhile. Been meaning to go see Phips Folly's 1715 diorama at McLarty, it wasn't there the last time I visited.

Actually yes and no...
I always see a new perspective in every map...
In this instance I was looking at the Port Charlotte / Punta Gorda areas...
For research that needed support from many maps of this time period.
It was referenced to me on this map that it was used for original location of 1715 fleet etc...
But to tell you the truth I saw very little to support that from that map if I remember correctly.

I have maps that are very rare with more detail to that fleets general sinking locations/markings than that...
was not impressed with it as far as maps go.

Would love to see your map you speak of.
My maps collection both on paper/velum extend and range from 1960's back into 1500's.
And digital archive is over 10 gigs compressed.
There are not many maps of Florida I do not own... in fact I do not know of any I do not own...
And own 2 that are unknown.
ALL Florida...
I use to collect all maps but ran out of room long ago and downsized...
1970 is cut off for me.
Must be pre.
I use to collect all maps... years ago they were abundant and very easy to find.

I also use to collect National Geographic and of course the maps...
that is what got me started.
sold them 20 years ago.
Been collecting just Florida Maps and books (all historical or related) ever since.

Again... and anyway...
Would love to see your map... although I think I may already have :)

OH btw... I have a map that does have the + location markings for 1715... only on mine... it has 2 more locations with these same markings...
