On my way home from the cookout I bought a copy of Shadow Divers from a used bookstore, I am reading it for the second time.

If anyone out there wants to read about shipwreck diving and research etc completed on the cutting edge......get a copy and read it.

It might not keep you safe but it will make you go where you should!!

Try reading Shadow Divers Exposed by Gary Gentile. Not as exciting, but a true account of what really happened. Gold Finder is a great book if you are looking for a good read.

Whitt, just bought Gentile's account, I am REALLY looking forward to forming an informed independent opinion, thanks again!!

Shadow divers IS a great book! I have read it 3 or 4 times. Cutting-edge diving of it's time and divers with serious cajones. It's the book that helped push me into wreck diving.

Gentile is a publicity hound who only cares about trying to be "famous" and doesn't give a damn about the truth.

Wow, do you know him? I do. Never struck me as that kind of person. Now ask anyone about Kohler... That's another story. But hey, the book is a great read, I can't argue that.

My experience, too, Whitt. Gary was always a professional in my dealings with him.

Gary Gentile is literally the guy who wrote the book on "Technical" diving and deep wreck diving on the US east coast, and in so doing opened that field up to sport divers. I have read many of his books and have spent time with him and have always been left with a very positive impression of him personally and of his motives.
