Sounds like all those new state archies are too lazy or under funded to go look for artifacts themselves so they are trying to get the uninformed public to do it for them.

I have never... Ever...
Seen or met a archie on a beach working or looking for anything.
In fact...
Other than on someone else's finds...
And required to be there...
I have never even seen an archie elsewhere... ever.
Not looking... not educating an MDr... not investigating...
Not researching in a library...
Not anywhere... ever.
And I have logged a serious lifetime of hours.
Not one... in the field on their own...
Ever.
I have never... Ever...
