Ahoy!

Does anyone know the present location of the famous "Thompson-Lightbourn" 70 lbs. silver bar once on display in Nassau? Found off Gorda Cay in the 1950's, for many years it was open to public view at The Development Board.

I understand The Development Board is no longer in business. Where is the ingot today?

This is from (I believe) 1954 - tells the story of the find and the history of the bar.

Thank you!

Good luck to all,

Mackaydon: Yes. I have made inquiries there and I continue to do so. It isn't a question they are asked every day.

I figured there would be a Bahamian TN member who knows the story.

Good luck to all,

There are several Bahamian TN members. Where is Bahama Mike when you need him? Hey SADDS are you still monitoring TN? Are you going to be at the Cookout this year?

I might add some "trivia" about this bar...

It has been said...

These two did not find that bar.

It was said that it was one of five bars found by a pair of fisherman and they took credit.

AARC:

Thank you for that information! Do you know where the bar is today? Or do you know somebody who might know?

Good luck to all,
