**SILVERWARE** I detected this at a 1829’s homestead and the only makers mark is “MANUFACTURES” on the front of the fork. It’s not stamped anywhere else. Is it silver plated bronze? Thank you
It does appear to be mid 19th century. The type is called a fiddle back, due to the shape of the handle. Looking carefully at a close up of the damaged areas, it does appear to be silver plated bronze. The initials were those of the original owner.

Thank you smokey. I think I see the silver flaking where the prongs are bent. I did learn it was a threaded fiddle style fork mid 1809’s but wasn’t sure if it was solid sliver and why the Makers Mark was on the front with a generic stamp “Manufacturers”?
