    box of stamps

    many years ago i came into possion of a box of stamps, alot of them are 100 years or older and from differant time periods. example [ stamps from germany duing the war, some have be stamped
    in germany. there are so many interesting ones want to find out what they are worth. will someone
    please give me some advise as to how to go about this? which stamp books to look into or any other advise. thanks much, i really appreciate it very much.

    Scott's stamp catalogs, IMO, are the gold standard and the best in the stamp collecting arena. Check your local library to see if they have them, or can get them from another branch.

    An additional suggestion: Contact the Hawaii State Numismatic Association
    http://www.hawaiicollectibles.org/contactus.html
    and ask for members' names, phone, eMail addresses, etc. who live on Maui.
    If that member shows interest in any particular stamp (makes you an offer), tell him you'll get back to him soon--then do your research on that/those stamp(s) to independently determine what you would sell them for.

    PS: Don't be surprised if your German WW II era stamps are worthless.
