i got a 1857 half dime at every bit of seven inches deep in hard dry ground. got a good solid hit both ways on it with GB set at neutral, threshold just to when you can hear it and sense at 10. as you know, those are small thin coins.

im not a metal detecting fanatic or anything. but from my experience and what i read. the vaquero is a real good all round unit. i chose it for my first detector and really see no reason to have to upgrade. if or when i do, it will most likely be a tejon. but, for now it is all i need.
