It has been over a year I have wanted to upgrade from my Compadre. I spent 5 months working away from home and would like to have something before spring.

Let's keep the cost around $500 or less. A little over $500 would be fine.

Tesoro Cibola - $360
Tesoro Outlaw - $437
Tesoro Vaquero - $460
Tesoro Tejon - $550

I mainly look around old sawmill communities dating back to the early 1900s.

Sandy soil, sometimes with a mix of clay.

Would like something that can discriminate very well between iron, silver... etc.

Or is even worth it to upgrade from the Compadre?

How about a "EuroSabre?"

Euro 9X8-.jpg

It would do a fantastic job on a site like that.

It's hard to believe how well that machine works.

If you think it's a dud you can have your money back.

I was not offering to buy one. Prices were lsited from amazon.

Sorry, thought you were looking for a machine.

If it were my choice I would consider the,.....

Tesoro Vaquero - $460

It would do a good job on a site like you described.

I thought you were looking for a machine from a member too. I second the Vaq from the list. But man I would love a EuroSabre (if I were looking).

Looking at what you wish for, I've had many Tesoro's.

Go for the Tejon if you can find one..

Kevin, I would go the Vaquero or the Outlaw... Delta vs Epsilon coil being the main difference.

Stay with tesoro if that is your thing but consider the simplex as an option.

Love that Euro Sabre!

Thanks, it's super nice.

My good friend is down your way in Macon.
He uses the cousin to the Euro Sabre, an Eldorado.

Both are really good machines.

I've had the Vaquero great machine but there is no point buying new, IMO buy a used Tejon if you can find one.
